Ben Puchalski grew up in Greeley and picked up a guitar early enough that people around town started calling him the best guitarist in the area before he was old enough to play most of the bars. He met bassist Chris Manichanh on their high school tennis team. Drummer Matt Schooley rounds out the trio.
Greeley-raised. Moxi Theater regular. The kind of hometown act that makes a blues festival feel like a block party.
The Ben Pu Crew plays blues rock with a lean lineup: guitar, bass, drums, no safety net. Their EP "Try Again Tomorrow" was recorded at UNC Studios with producer Michael Olivier. They have been featured in BandWagon Magazine and are members of the High Plains Blues Society.
Ben has played the Moxi Theater, 2454 West, and previous editions of Greeley Blues Jam (including 2022). The Busker Stage at 7:45 PM is the last set on the second stage Saturday, running while Robert Randolph warms up the main stage across the grounds. Good problem to have.
Saturday, June 6 at Island Grove Regional Park. Busker Stage closer.
